ACCSISA 2018 Conference
The 2018 ACCSISA Summer Conference is coming up soon!
The conference will be held at the newly renovated Island House Hotel, located at 26650 Perdido Beach Boulevard, Orange Beach, AL 36561. The conference dates are Sunday, June 10th – Wednesday, June 13th.
The hotel’s reservation deadline is Thursday, May 10th. Don’t wait to book, though. Our special rates are available until Thursday, May 10, 2018, or until our room block is sold out – whichever comes first.
In spite of recent travel policy changes in the Alabama Community College System schools, ACCSISA is still pleased to offer our members the rate of $150 for your three-night conference stay (as outlined below) at The Island House Hotel. This arrangement is with ACCSISA – not The Island House Hotel. If you have questions about this rate or arrangement, contact me.
Our room block rate is $209/night for a standard room at The Island House Hotel. All rooms are gulf-front rooms with private balconies. Your reservation will show this as your rate. Use your credit card to confirm. You will be responsible for $50/conference night for your standard room reservation plus any incidental hotel costs that you might incur. Incidental costs include, but are not limited to: pay-per-view, dining, room service, bar tab, and additional costs based on occupancy in your room (>2 adults, pre- or post-conference nights, etc.). Our room block rate of $209/night for a standard room is good for 2 nights after the conclusion of the conference. Due to the hotel’s weekend rates, for any pre-conference nights, standard room rates for Friday and Saturday nights are $289/night.
- Use a credit card (not a debit card) to book your reservation. Hilton will place a $150 hold on your debit card that may not come off of your card until 3-5 days after your hotel stay.
- Become a Hilton Honors member. You earn Hilton Honors points for you your stay at The Island House Hotel. (This is just a personal tip. The hotel doesn’t care if you are a Hilton Honors member or not.)

In order for you to receive our group discount rate, it is imperative that you email me once you have contacted the hotel and made your reservation. My email address is : firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include in your email to me:
- the name on your reservation,
- the room type you requested,
- the day you plan to check-in, and
- the day you plan to check-out.
In order for you to obtain the special group rate ($150 for 3-nights in a standard room from our guestroom block), I have to coordinate this with the hotel. This is why it is necessary that you notify me of your reservation.
Hotel Cancellation Policy: Individual reservations may be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival.
No-Show Charges: In the event that you do not show or follow proper cancellation procedures, you will incur a minimum of one night’s room and tax and room availability for subsequent nights may be cancelled. (These charges will be incurred by you and not the Association.)
Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is at 4 p.m. Check-out time is by 11 a.m.
Upgraded accommodations: Upgraded accommodations at The Island House Hotel may be available. The cost of any upgrade will be incurred by the member and not ACCSISA.

Opening reception: Information will be forthcoming about our opening reception on Sunday evening. Please be sure to provide me with a headcount of those in your party who will attend the opening reception when you register online for the conference.
The Conference & Meals: Our meetings and conference dining will be set up in The Island House Hotel Conference Center. Breakfasts on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, as well as lunches on Monday and Tuesday, are included with your conference registration. All of these meals will be catered by The Island House Hotel. Monday and Tuesday evening dinners are on your own. Look for a restructured conference designed with you – our members – in mind.
